Cost Assistance Overview
The three cost assistance sources below have been used by many Abbotsford people in the past and are a great way to receive payment assistance towards the sport you love.
Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out. The vision of Jumpstart is simple: Canada, where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams. Jumpstart is a national charity with a commitment to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities. Canadian Tire Corporation recognized this and makes sure that money raised stays where it is donated. Canadian Tire Corporation is Jumpstart’s biggest supporter as it funds all the general administrative expenses of Jumpstart, which means 100% of customer donations go directly to help kids in need.
KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. Through a confidential application process we provide grants so they can play a season of sport. Nationally, KidSport is comprised of a network of 11 provincial/territorial KidSport chapters and 178 community KidSport chapters. Since its creation in 1993, over 530,000 kids across the country have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming.
ATHLETICS 4 KIDS
Athletics For Kids is a provincial charity that provides financial assistance for registration fees to kids aged 5 to 18 who are in school. In 2016 just over 1,000 kids benefited from the program and the average kid received $210 for their sports. Athletics For Kids has one mission: to ensure any kid can play sports because all kids have the right to play.
